No7 BB Lips Beauty Balm - Blush Coral & Blink Pink

Friday 27 February 2015

I must admit when I first heard there was another BB product being released I just thought it was going to be another product that makes a thousand promises and just doesn't deliver but I have to admit I was wrong where these two are concerned!

No7 BB Lips  rrp £9 are an all-in-one lip balm that provides UV protection of SPF 15, soothing nourishment and topped off with a sheer wash of colour. My biggest concern with them being described as 'a similar finish to lip gloss' was that they were going to be just that, a sticky lip gloss type formula. I was pleasantly surprised to find they are more in fact a balmy formula with a glossy sheen to them.

BB lips have been a gorgeous alternative to your conventional lip balm over the winter and as I try to keep my makeup quite simple for work they have given me a lovely fresh finish for my lips. My favourite of the two has to be Blush Coral as it's a gorgeous wash of peach however Blink Pink is a lovely pale pink shade that really compliments my natural lip colour.

Have you tried BB Lips? What are your thoughts?

B. Rescued Energising Balm

Tuesday 24 February 2015

I don't know why I haven't done a post on this little miracle worker before as I have been using it daily for a few months now and I honestly couldn't be without it!

After the horrible results of using Clarins Beauty Flash Balm I was a bit apprehensive of using a similar product again but after falling in love with the B Micellar Water I thought I'd give it a shot and boy am I glad I did!

B. Rescued Energising Balm rrp £10.99 is designed to prep tired skin for the day with an energy boost. You can use it morning/evening after cleansing and it can even be used as a mask 2 or 3 times a week. What I absolutely love about this product is the finish it gives my skin when worn beneath foundation. With having oily/combination skin some of the products I use to treat it can leave my skin looking a little dull and lacklustre but this gives my skin a dewy finish and a healthy sheen.

I've tried a lot of the B range and I really should get some posts up on my favourites as Superdrug's own brand B has some seriously impressive offerings.

Have you tried any of the B range? What are your favourites?

Lancome Hypnose Mascara Review

Friday 20 February 2015

I'm still dipping my toe into Lancome products and I have to say I think this mascara could be the catalyst to me trying more!

Lancome Hypnose mascara rrp £22.50 comes in some seriously sleek packaging, it definitely has a luxe feel to it and the brush on the wand is just, well just perfect!
The brush does an excellent job of coating each lash and really lengthening them without any clumpy bits. The formula is to die for! Not only is it blackest black but it stays put all day, not a sign of smudges or flaky bits.

Top - No Mascara
Middle - One Coat
Bottom - Two Coats
Excuse my puffy morning eyes and flyaway bed hair but how lovely is this mascara on? It really lengthens and defines my lashes, I'm hooked!

Nails Inc & Victoria Beckham Collaboration - Bamboo White

Tuesday 17 February 2015

A bit of a latecomer to the party I know but admittedly I did tell myself for ages that I do not need a nail polish that retails for £25, but how wrong was I!

Out of the two polishes featured in the VB and Nails Inc collaboration Bamboo White most appealed to me as I already have 5 or 6 tomato red's and who doesn't love a classic nude? So what's so special about this polish to retail for £25? Everything. The bootle oozes sophistication, customised by VB herself and made from hand frosted Venetian glass with a viewing window on the side to see your chosen shade. This polish, like all of Nails Inc's new lines, is a very generous 14ml bottle and the square lid pops off to reveal a more manageable screw in bottle top.

The formula contains bamboo extract to help build healthy nails and ensure a smooth application. I like to paint my nails with quite thin layers so I found I needed 3 coats for complete opacity. What I love about this colour is it varies in different lights, I would best describe it as a beige-pale pink. The polish wears so well, I have had this shade on for 6 days now and there's not a chip in sight, still as glossy as the day applied.

Do you own any of the VB and Nails Inc collaboration polishes? Could you part with £25 for a nail polish?

Benefit b.right! Radiant Skincare 6 Piece Intro Kit

Sunday 15 February 2015

I purchased a couple of these adorable sets just after Christmas in the sales, as a huge Benefit cosmetics fan I had been intrigued to delve into their skincare range for a while and what better way than with an adorable little kit like this?

For an intro kit that only costs £14.50 the set has an incredibly great quality feel to it with four of the samples housed in kitsch glass packaging. I'm a massive fan of my regular eye cream, Benefit's It's Potent! Eye Cream and I have to say that everything else that I have been trying is pretty impressive.

The set includes samples of Benefit's-
Foamingly Clean Facial Wash 8.9g
Refined Finish Facial Polish 8.9g
Moisture Prep Toning Lotion 8.9ml
Triple Performing Facial Lotion 8.9ml
Total Moisture Facial Cream 3g
It's Potent! Eye Cream 3g

If you, like I was, are intrigued to try Benefit's skincare range then I couldn't recommend this set more. Even if you don't enjoy the products just think how cute they will look on your dressing table!

No7 Blush & Glow Collection

Friday 13 February 2015

I'm a little bit late with this post and I apologise if this set is no longer available as I purchased it just after Christmas but today's post is on Boots No7 Blush and Glow Collection rrp £15. Each of the products are available for individual purchase but at only £15 and with the products collectively costing £39 it's a real steal!

I already own the Instant Radiance Highlighter which is absolutely gorgeous and I own another of their Pop and Glow Cream Blush Stick's in the shade Mango Sorbet which I also love so the shade in this set Rose Blossom is a very welcome edition to my collection. What attracted me most to this set was the Instant Radiance Bronzing Highlighter and let me tell you paired with bronzer it really is something special!

You can apply each of the products straight to your face from the stick however I find I get a more natural and even finish when swiping my buffing brush over the stick and then buffing into the skin. When I swatched the Bronzing Highlighter I initially thought it was way too golden and dark for my pale skin, however it looks gorgeous just above your cheekbones when wearing bronzer. Rose Blossom is a gorgeous healthy pink shade for your cheeks. I find all of the products to last all day and give an all round healthy look to my skin.

Again I apologise if the set is no longer available however individually they are part of No7's permanent makeup range and even without the offer price of the set they are so worth the money!

White Horse Street - from Nails Inc 'The New White' Collection

Tuesday 10 February 2015

Nails Inc have delivered some seriously gorgeous new arrivals recently and White Horse Street rrp £14 is definitely one of those. The New White is described as an innovative collection of four white-based polishes with a hint of colour. Enriched with Porcelain Flower Extract - a rare white flower from Thailand with recognised healing, therapeutic, illuminating and calming properties, the range will help strengthen and improve nail health.

Of the four new shades my first choice was White Horse Street, a soft smokey grey. As with all of Nails Inc new ranges you get a very generous 14ml of product all housed in a seriously sleek square glass bottle. What I love about this shade is that in some lights it looks a pale grey and in other lights it looks more lilac...It's just perfect!

Topshop Sheer Lips in Alibi

Sunday 8 February 2015

I don't know about you but I am totally embracing the lighter, fresher makeup trends for SS15. Not only ditching the heavy winter makeup give me that extra 10 minutes in bed in the morning but it's also getting me excited about spring's neighbour summer!

Over the last 6 months Topshop have brought us some gorgeous beauty offerings and today's post is one of those. The Sheer Lips range are a moisturising, balm like lipstick that offer a medium yet build able slick of colour in a creamy, slightly glossy finish. I'm embracing the barely-there face (which actually takes me like 15 more products to achieve!) and this nude shade is great for just that.

The only thing I will say about this peachy little nude shade is that if you have rough, dry lips then you may find the colour settling onto the dry patches a little. Other than that I absolutely adore it! I'm pretty sure Topshop's Sheer Lips will be the only lipsticks in my bag this spring/summer!

Yes To Tomatoes Clearing Face Mask Review

Friday 6 February 2015

I seem to be on a roll with my posts on skincare this week, it's refreshing to talk about the basics instead of makeup I must admit. Today I'll be talking to you about this fabulous face mask from the quirky brand Yes To, Yes To Tomatoes Clearing Face Mask rrp £11.99.

When I'm having a break out I like to alternate between this mask and Liz Earle's Deep Cleansing Mask as both have the outstanding ability to clear my skin. Yes To Tomatoes Clearing Face Mask is a total deep pore treatment that refines, purifies and moisturises your skin. The creamy clay mask is filled with anti-oxidants and powerful oil absorbers, perfect for oily skin like mine.

I really love the freshness of this mask, it smells like baby wipes or talc, it just smells clean and fresh. Although this mask does an amazing job of treating any existing spots and really clears any oiliness on my skin it doesn't leave my skin feeling stripped or dry, it feels comfortable and extremely clean.

If you suffer from oily, combination skin like I do and are looking for a skin treat then I couldn't recommend this one enough!

Liz Earle Deep Cleansing Mask Review

Sunday 1 February 2015

If like me you have some seriously combination skin you'll know it's a constant battle to keep it under check and those blemishes at bay, today I'm reviewing a product which helps me do just that.

Liz Earle Deep Cleansing Mask  (prices from £6) is a concentrated clay mask that specifically targets oily and combination skin and helps to draw out impurities and restore balance. When ever I suffer a break out this is one of the masks that I reach for as it does an amazing job of getting down any redness and leaves my skin feeling more comfortable.

This mask is not advised for use on sensitive skin due to some of the ingredients. The main ingredients include green clay, rose-scented geranium and (the most prominent scent) manuka honey. The only let down for this mask is the formula, it's a lot more liquid than I have experienced with any other clay mask which means you can move it around your face quite easily, I have found the best way to apply it is with a brush. The sponges that come with the mask are great for effectively removing the mask and exfoliating it at the same time and really gives the whole process a spa feel to it.
